Jacob Bridgeman Storms From Eight Back to Win Inaugural Biltmore Championship with 61

Jacob Bridgeman produced a stunning Sunday charge to win the inaugural Biltmore Championship in Asheville, North Carolina, firing a 10-under 61 at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove. Bridgeman began the final round eight shots behind 54-hole leader Neal Shipley but surged up the leaderboard with three birdies in his first four holes, an eagle at the eighth and further birdies at Nos. 10, 13, 14, 15 and 17. He closed with a par at the 18th to finish two shots clear and claim his second PGA Tour title of 2026.

Bridgeman’s victory came after Shipley and Ben Kohles started the day at the top. Kohles quickly fell out of contention, while Shipley battled to remain in the hunt for his first PGA Tour win. Ben James finished runner-up, with Shipley and Ricky Castillo sharing third. Bridgeman earned $900,000 from the purse and said the home support helped fuel his comeback after he gained more than three shots on approach and made roughly 90 feet of putts. “They were just kind of rooting me on,” Bridgeman said. “Kept the momentum going.”

The result gives the United States another in-form player heading into next week’s Presidents Cup at Medinah. Bridgeman, selected by captain Brandt Snedeker, arrives after a season featuring 22 cuts made in 23 starts, 11 top-10 finishes and a fourth-place result in the Tour Championship. International standout Si Woo Kim will make his fourth Presidents Cup appearance after compiling a 6-5 record in his previous three and recording 11 top-10 finishes in 2026. International teammate Christiaan Bezuidenhout described Kim as “one of a kind” and emphasized his importance both on the course and inside the team room.

At the PURE Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach, Vaughn Taylor finished tied for ninth at 7 under, his best result in several months. The tournament also produced a memorable competitive moment when 17-year-old First Tee competitor Angelina Booan recorded her first hole-in-one at Spyglass Hill during the pro-junior event. Booan’s pitching-wedge shot on the short 12th hole landed about a foot from the cup before spinning back in, shortly after Taylor had helped her adjust her swing and club selection.
