Korda and Corpuz Make Solheim Cup History with Fifth Straight Partnership Win

Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz made Solheim Cup history Friday, becoming the first partnership to win five consecutive matches in the event. The Americans defeated Europe’s top pairing, Charley Hull and Lottie Woad, 4 and 3 in the opening foursomes match at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands.

Korda and Corpuz took control after losing the first hole, winning the second before stringing together three straight victories on Nos. 6 through 8. Their latest result extended a dominant partnership record across the 2023, 2024 and 2026 Solheim Cups. They have now won all five of their matches together, including four previous victories by margins ranging from 1 up to 5 and 3.

The United States also received a 3-and-2 victory from Alison Lee and Lauren Coughlin over Nanna Koerstz Madsen and Celine Boutier. Europe answered in the final two matches, with Esther Henseleit and Leona Maguire defeating Andrea Lee and Lindy Duncan 2 up, followed by Maja Stark and Linn Grant’s 3-and-2 win over Rose Zhang and Jennifer Kupcho. The result marked only the third time in Solheim Cup history that the teams were tied after the opening session.

“First session out away from home, two points on the board, really happy with the way we played,” U.S. captain Angela Stanford said. Four-ball play was scheduled to follow, with Korda paired with Coughlin against Carlota Ciganda and Julia Lopez Ramirez, while Corpuz teamed with Auston Kim against Mimi Rhodes and Natasia Nadaud.
